Emily Jordan
I have always loved to create, as long as I can remember. My parents encouraged this love of mine and signed me up for drawing classes when I was young. I took every art elective I could in high school, and went on to major in Art in college. I was a high school art teacher for four years, and then stayed home to care for my children. I ran a pottery business for a few years, and currently teach art every afternoon at Woodsong Forest School in McDonald, TN.
I have enjoyed working with many different mediums including ceramics, photography, and watercolor painting. I’m currently exploring themes of the sacred feminine and mothering not only my own children, but in a way, myself. Cyanotype photography is my favorite medium right now. The connection between the material and nature allows a beautiful interaction that’s powerful and quite meaningful. Connecting with art and nature has provided a great deal of healing in my life.
